This thrilling aviation classic by Captain Don McVicar has just been published as a trade paperback under the imprint of Words on Wings Press. South Atlantic Safari is the companion volume to Ferry Command Pilot, which came out on June 21, 2015 to commemorate what would have been Capt. McVicar’s 100th birthday. Both volumes were originally the two main stories in Ferry Command which was published by Airlife in 1981.
In 1990, with the book sold out and Airlife unwilling to print a second edition, McVicar divided it into the two titles and added new material to both, then self-published them, along with several other books he wrote based upon his long career in aviation. With the publication of South Atlantic Safari, Ferry Command has now been restored to the world: and improved upon, as for the first time, both books have been indexed by editor/designer Donna McVicar Kazo.
